Stadshal is a 40-meter long steel structure which covers a part of the space between the new Emile Braunpark, and Poeljemarkt near the Ghent City Hall. The canopy is supported on four concrete pillars, which also house two elevators as well as utility ducts to an underground level. The canopy has a greying Afrormosia finish and 1,600 small openings that let in natural light. The canopy design references the surrounding structures, such as the Schepenhuis van Gedele's unequal roof heights and the Lakenhal to create a large covered area.
