Spieringhorn, a neighborhood in Amsterdam's Nieuw-West area. Spieringhorn used to be a peat bog and polder between the Spaarndammerdijk, and the Haarlemmervaart. It was located in the former municipality Sloten. Spierinxhoorn was the name given to the area south-west of the Spaarndammerdijk, up to the Osdorperweg in the 16th century. The land south of the Haarlemmervaart was called the Osdorper Binnenpolder, and the land to the north as the Spieringhorner Binnenpolder.

The Spieringhorn Sports Park, named in 1971 after the area, is one of Spieringhorn's most distinctive features. The park, located east of Seineweg but north of Haarlemmervaart, is famous for its large football pitch and the small section of former Spaarndammerdijk that served as the southern border of IJ up until 1872. The large football field is surrounded by an artwork entitled "Deur naar het Verleden" which refers to a former "Huis te Bretten", that was located here between 1635-1837. It had to be destroyed for the construction the railway line Amsterdam-Haarlem.
