The Wilhelminapark neighborhood is located in Utrecht's eastern area, the Dutch capital of Utrecht. The park that bears the same name was established in 1898. The park was designed in English landscape style, and it is a favorite spot for students travelling between the Uithof (the Uithof district) and the city centre. A statue of Queen Wilhelmina is also located in the park, as well as a restaurant under a thatched-roof.
Around the park, there are rows of terraced homes built in the early 1900s. A group of seven villas are located south of Koningslaan. Two of them appear to be connected, giving the impression of being one large house. The municipality of Utrecht purchased the Het Hoogeland property in the late 19th Century and started developing the Hogelandsepark east of Wilhelminapark. The municipality built terraced houses in the vegetable gardens of the former Oudwijk complex. Stadhouderslaan is the central axis for this neighborhood. The Antonius Hospital building is located beyond Stadhoudersbrug. It lost its purpose in 1983 when it moved to Nieuwegein. The complex was divided into two parts: a part was turned into housing, and the other half was transformed into the "De Hoogstraat", a rehabilitation center. The rosary, the Sint Barbara Cemetery and other notable features of the area are also worth mentioning.
