Neder-Over-Heembeek is a neighborhood located in the northwestern section of Brussels, Belgium with over 17,000 residents living there and located between the Brussels Laken, Vilvoorde and Brussels-Schelde Canal. Dating back to 7th century Heembeek village was divided into two parishes which eventually amalgamated to become Neder-Over-Heembeek which existed independently until being absorbed into Brussels city limits as an independent municipality in 1921.
