Bohemen en Meer en Bos, also known as Bohemen en Bos in The Hague (Netherlands), is a neighbourhood. The neighborhood is located in Loosduinen and borders the Machiel Vrijenhoeklaan, Sportlaan, Daal-and Bergselaan, and Pioenweg to the north, Laan van Meerdervoort to the south, and Kijkduinsestraat to the southwest. It is surrounded by several other neighbourhoods, including Vruchtenbuurt and Waldeck. Other nearby neighborhoods include Vogelwijk, Ockenburgh and Bomen- en Bloemenbuurt. Bohemen is the name of the asylum of the Bohemian King Frederik V of the Palts who fled into the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands in 1620 after losing the Battle of White Mountain. The name Meer en Bos refers to former estate Meer en Bos.
Bohemen en Meer en Bos, built as part of Plan West in 1927, was located on the southwest side The Hague. A part of the neighborhood was destroyed before World War II, when the Atlantic Wall was built. In its place, new constructions were built after the war. There are many different architectural styles in the neighborhood, from art-deco to designs that have been influenced by international apartment blocks and new sobriety.
