Parking near Kreekhuizen

Kreekhuizen, a Rotterdam neighborhood, is located in the IJsselmonde borough. The first 465 houses in the neighborhood, designed by Van Dokkem & Hallema architects, were constructed by Rotterdam in the late 1950s. In 2012, residents of the neighborhood were significantly older than those in other parts IJsselmonde.

The neighborhood, located east of Rotterdam-Dordrecht rail line, south the Olympiaweg and north the Kreekhuizenlaan and Kreekhuizenplein and Spinozaweg is dominated by low-rise housing. This includes row houses and apartments. Spuikreekflats and the 11-story De Kreek Building are notable exceptions. The Keizerswaard shopping center and a small shopping center are located near the Kreekplein. The streets of the neighborhood all end with "kreek" except for Smeetslandseweg and Sportlaan.

The neighborhood is also served by bus lines on the Grote Kreek, and tram lines 2, and 20 along Spinozaweg. The Kreekhuizenplein rotunda is a major traffic hub. It provides access to the A15 near the Barendrecht exit, via the IJsselmondse Ring Road, the A16 at the Van Brienenoord Bridge via the Kreekhuizenlaan or Adriaan Volkerlaan as well as the A29 at Zuidplein via the Spinozaweg.

In Kreekhuizen, sports and recreation include the green area west of Smeetslandseweg along the railway, where amateur soccer clubs IJVV De Zwervers, LMO and the Olympia Scouting Group, now called Ibn Battuta, are located. The former RVV Hillsluis football team has been replaced at the Sportlaan by the Trainingscomplex 1908 which includes practice grounds for the professional Feyenoord Football Team.
