IJsselmonde is a neighborhood, former municipality and former submunicipality in Rotterdam in South Holland in the Netherlands. The neighborhood, named for its position at the mouth of Hollandse IJssel river, currently has 60,065 residents (2017).

IJsselmonde consists of four neighborhoods divided into areas, such as Oud-IJsselmonde, De Veranda, Groot-IJsselmonde, Groenenhagen-Tuinenhoven and Zomerland as well as Sportdorp in Kreekhuizen: Hordijkerveld Reyeroord Beverwaard Lombardijen Homerusbuurt Karl Marxbuurt Molierebuurt Smeetsland Zenobuurt.

IJsselmonde dates back to 1072; however, there is evidence of fishing, hunting and agriculture dating back to 2500 BC that form part of Vlaardingencultuur culture. IJsselmonde first had its own council in 1778; by the early 19th century it covered much of present-day Rotterdam-Zuid. Prior to 1941 it had existed as an independent municipality before being annexed by Rotterdam City. Rotterdamians in the second half of the 18th century often visited IJsselmonde and Kralingse Veer across the river for salmon fishing, with fishing rights reserved by Van Brienen family, who then subleased them until 1876 to De Merode (based out of Groeneplaat/Eiland van Brienenoord).
