Belgisch Park is rich in history when it comes to public transport. This neighborhood was also home to the first steam tram line in the Benelux. It ran through it in 1879. The NRS line connected the Nieuwe Scheveningse Bosjes to Scheveningen via the Badhuisweg. This steam tram was eventually replaced in 1924 by the Blue Tram operated by the NZH. It ran initially through the Amsterdamse Straat and Gevers Deynootstraat before returning via the Haarlemse Straat. This route was discontinued after the war and replaced by a smaller loop. The Blue Tram vanished from the area in 1957 after the line was reduced. The old tram tracks can still be seen in the Nieuwe Scheveningse bosjes.
Belgisch Park, a neighborhood in the city of Amsterdam, is known for its stunning architecture. It includes a variety of styles ranging from Art Nouveau to Neo-styles. Belgisch Plein, although not in the middle of the neighbourhood, is the focal point of growth for the entire neighborhood in the first 20 years after its construction. Badhuisweg, built in 1828 after the original neoclassical Badhuis on the site of today's Kurhaus and named for the Badhuis itself, borders the neighborhood to the southwest. It provides a stunning view of the Kurhaus. You'll also find two modern care homes, as well as the First Dutch Out-of-School that were built prior to the Second World War on the other side. On the north side, you can still see some of the Hofpleinspoorlijn route, which was constructed in 1908, and connected Scheveningen to the Hollands Spoor Station in The Hague, and the Hofplein Station in Rotterdam, until 1953.
