The De Lessepsbuurt is located on the opposite side of Amsterdamsestraatweg. It was built by the Zuilen housing association in 1913 for workers with lower skills. Streets are named for inventors, such as Marconistraat or Edisonstraat. In the 1920s, and 1930s, "Zuilen", a housing association in this area, continued to build two additional housing projects. The Sint-Ludgeruskerk, located on the Amsterdamsestraatweg, was replaced by an apartment building in the 1970s. Wim van Scharenburg runs the Museum of Zuilen in this neighborhood. USV Elinkwijk is the name of the local amateur football team. Demka and Werkspoor dissolved and demolished their factories in the early 80s.
