De Krommerdt is an Amsterdam neighborhood situated in the West district. It takes its name from De Krommert waterway which used to run from Kostverlorenvaart all the way to Molensloot (renamed Admiralengracht). The waterway ran parallel with Admiraal de Ruijterweg and Jan Evertsenstraat until its majority was filled in during the 1930s; today Willem de Zwijgerlaan runs through its eastern area. One open space remains between Admiraal de Ruijterweg and Maarten Harpertszoon Trompstraat houses, the last remaining part of De Krommert to be filled in between 1959 and 1964. It has since been turned into a playground enclosed with fences which only open during daylight hours.

Here, two parts of Admiraal de Ruijterweg meet almost at right angles before taking an S-turn for trams heading in the direction of Sloterdijk. New tracks were installed for tram lines 12 and 14 during 1981-1982, with a bend from De Krommert to Jan Evertsenstraat created for an unrealized conversion of line 15. Additionally, tram line 13 has passed through this intersection since 1927, running directly from Admiraal de Ruijterweg to Jan Evertsenstraat. On July 22, 2018, tram lines 12 and 14 were discontinued with line 19 taking their place and bus routes F/15 also used to drive over it until November 18th 2018 when its closure officially took effect.
