Hoofddorppleinbuurt is an Amsterdam neighborhood located in the southern section of Zuid. As of July 31, 2017 with an estimated population of 11,845, it covers an area of 96.71 hectares and borders Surinameplein to the south, Surinamestraat, Schinkel A10 Lanes Einsteinweg Henk Sneevlietweg Norther Slopping Pathway Henk Sneevlietweg Henk Sneevlietway Northern sloped path and Westlandgracht canal.
As part of Plan West and annexed from Sloten municipality in 1921, Hoofddorppleinbuurt was built during the 1920s as part of Plan West on land annexed from Sloten in 1921 and features streets named after 19th century painters and places southwest of Amsterdam. Since 1927, Amstelveenseweg and Zeilbrug connect Hoofddorppleinbuurt to Amstelveenseweg and Hoofddorppleinbuurt used to be part of Overtoomse Veld before being annexed into district Zuid in 1990.
Hoofddorppleinbuurt is predominantly residential neighborhood with few businesses or institutions; however, there is a large shopping center.
